Proposed new discount “road only" quasi-Clem model in late March Blahg — interesting. It can take 50s so I’m  interested, tho’ the Clem seems a wonderful bargain and would allow more customization and it takes 60s.

The prototype is shown with 50s and I wonder how much fatter at tire you could squeeze into the frame? From the photo the rear looks tight but there seems to be more room in front. But I find 50s the minimum for decent dirt riding in sandy soil, at least in shallow sand, and the bike is made for 700C which I think does better on sandy dirt than 559, at least.

The complete Clem is only $2,400. I wonder how low they will go on this one?

I trudged over to the blahg expecting another non swoopy step through variation - and with that mild disappointment. Though I have to say - something about this model grabs my attention a bit more. Perhaps the yellow and wheelsize gives a "jack taylor rough stuff" vibe. The mini handle at the bottom is brilliant. I carry my clementine all the time and the bottom tube can be dirty. Also - I am curious if the wheelbase is a *titch* shorter, which would be great for a city bike that could more easily fit on transit. (Though that may just be an illusion and or a fantasy.) Either way - it's a good looking bike. Though it's funny that this is how every Clem was set up until people realized they could jam in 2.1-2.3 tires and have a formidable ATB bike.
