I'm curious why you choose 3 chainrings and 1 cog instead of 3 cogs and 1 chainring, given that the latter system is simpler (the latter requires just one chain management device instead of 2) and gives greater ratio variety for a given tooth difference. I'm not complaining, just asking.That aside, me, I love 3 speeds.

I've been riding this a lot lately after finishing up the build over the winter ...and it's feeling very good--59cm Clem L , new batch44/34/24 Silver Crankset with an 18t cog in the back and a Paul Melvin tensioner.I'm usually in the 34 ring and will push into the 44 when moving along on flats. The low 24/18 combo is pretty good for climbing , but I have't tested it out on a long climb with full saddleback. That's the older large version btw.I'm loving riding on 29x2.35's (Thanks Adam) ...still need to wire up the tail light and I'm envisioning a Nitto basket rack with my large Wald up front .Here's to hoping the New York State opens up those campgrounds before the summer is over
