Hey All!

I've recently purchased a leather saddle that I think I'll get along with. However, like most leather saddles, I'll need a bit more setback to really get my sit bones into the right place.

The plan is to get the Velo-Orange Grand Cru 30mm setback post. I can find one for about $50 or so. However, before I buy a new piece of gear, I always like to look for something second-hand. Sometimes I can even find something nicer for about the same price as a new unit.

So, does anyone have a 27.2, 30mm or longer setback post they might be selling?
Thanks!
Ben

Does anyone even make one with longer setback than the Grand Cru? I remember years ago when I was looking for the longest, VO was pretty much it.

The Nitto Lugged seatpost that Rivendell sells has 40mm of setback. The VO seatposts were better when they were true two-bolt micro-adjusting seatposts and not the two-bolt NON-micro-adjusting versions that they sell now.

Hi Ben — I like a lot of setback and I have one of the lugged Nitto seatposts on my Hillborne. If you can justify the cost it is a thing of beauty and should serve you well, though at 27.2 it's only compatible with some Riv frames. And it's steel so make sure to grease it up really well before installing.

I had one of the IRD Wayback seatposts and I couldn't get it to hold tension, (yes, I greased the bolt). It always slid around in the cradle. I found one of the seatposts it's based on, the SR MTE-100. Similar design, comes in a lot of seatpost diameters. They come up on eBay. Mine had a quick release bolt which I replaced with a new bolt and locknut. It's not the most refined looking thing out there but most of it disappears under the saddle.

Here's the one I have on my Appaloosa.
