I was planning on picking up a set of the upside , left on right, right on left SA shifter's from Rivendell this spring, but apparently they are no more.  Are they still available elsewhere?  O can I coble them together from the 3 speed and 8 speed ones I see listed? Thanks, Woody

It looks like they still have the right side Sunrace/SA shifter in stock for $32.   As they've come out with the Silver2 and the mounts for those I'd imagine that they will not restock the Sunrace/SA shifters, but an email to them might clarify.

FWIW, I'll shortly have a set from my Clem available that are in very good condition that I'll sell for $40 for the set, shipped w/in CONUS.

They never worked well, the clicks in friction were too indexy. The 9-spedd Microshifts Riv mounts backwards in friction on Clems now are much better.

Is there any trickery in setting up the Microshifts? I've tried putting cheap suntour powershifts in that position and the cable routing as I remember was a no-go with mustache bars.

I second that the Sunrace shifters were less than ideal.  I'll go and be contrarian and say the Microshift shifters are just ok, they slip under load when riding off road.  You need a ratchet, and the best / strongest ratchet is the Dura Ace 9 speed bar con shifter.  Mount with Paul thumbies for a really good shifting set up.  Can also index 9 speeds... very well.  Which Microshift... they're indexing is off.  You have to overshift and correct back. That's just bad engineering.  It's a feature on every Microshift thumbie or bar con I've used.  Can you get used to it? Yes.  Should you have to? No.
