Wondering if anyone has recommendations on where to sell non-Rivendell-related bikes.  I've sold bikes on local Craigslist before, but am interested in posting a bike I am looking to sell in multiple places.  Any experiences with eBay or other sites?  Recommendations?

For the record, I'm making a final conversion to the cult and am selling off my beautiful, dual suspension mtn bike.  I haven't touched it in three years since I set up my first Riv for trail riding and want to offload it to fund the purchase of another Rivendell.  :)

The paceline forum has a very active classified section, with a diverse type of riding.  I've never sold anything there, but bought multiple items from bikes to 1980's shifters.

Hey there!
You might see if your LBS would sell it on consignment. With the pandemic hitting the bike industry and bikes being rare to get ahold of, they might be able to best find your buyer and recommend your bike and just take a fee off the final selling price. A lot of people looking on Craigslist might not know the difference between your super nice mtn bike and a ShopKo special (most bikes on my local Craigslist are in that Low $100 - $300 dollar range).

I took the plunge recently myself and plan on selling my current bike when my Riv comes home. I'll first talk to the LBS where I buy a lot of my odds and ends to see if they would sell it for me at an agreed up percentage fee. If they're not interested, I might post on my facebook to my friends and see if anyone's interested in it. If not, it's going to facebook marketplace or craigslist (or I'll keep it).

Good luck!
-Ben

agree with pinkbike, it seems like a good place - I've bought a bike from there. Also velocipedesalon.com, but I think only members can see the classifieds on that site. People use OfferUp and Facebook marketplace also.

The Pros Closet in Boulder buys used bikes. Bikes are in short supply these days and you might be surprised at what they will offer. If they offer and you accept they also pay for shipping:

Paceline requires a certain minimum of posting before allowing participation in selling stuff.

Thank you for the suggestions, everyone.

I sold the bike this morning from my initial Craigslist posting.  I wasn't expecting it to move that quickly based on past experience.  The person I ended up selling it to turned out to be a friend from high school who I hadn't talked to almost thirty years.  We sent several emails back and forth through Craigslist before we realized we knew each other.  The Bay Area is like a small town, I swear.
