FS: 64cm Clem Smith Jr. L frameset

Purchased this as an NOS complete bicycle off eBay about 2 months ago and it came from the Kazoo Swift bicycle shop in Kalamazoo Michigan. They had 4 Rivendells and this one was the newest. My intention was to use it as a townie errand bike but ended up using most of the components for my newly acquired 59cm Wolbis Slugstone. This frameset has seen <100 miles of use and shows as new. One tiny <1mm chip on the top tube where the water bottle holder will hide it. One of the rear brake cable guides on the top tube and the rear drop out eyelets have a tiny bit of paint chips from shipping. So not pristine but pretty close and looks like new. This is slightly older model than the current Clem geometry with a shorter length headtube (220mm) and toptube (68.5cm). Axle spacing is spot on with wheels centering in frame allowing riding with no hands on the bars sitting perfectly upright.

$975 for frame, fork, headset, seatpost, stock Sunrace V-brake levers and kickstand. $1000 with the Nitto Tallux 120mm quill stem. Plus actual shipping cost using Bikeflights insured. Will be completely wrapped in rigid foam pipe insulation and fork removed and boxed separately inside the bike box since this is a huge frameset and will reduce the shipping cost.

Reading the Rivendell website News Blog it has Grant Petersen showing his new 64cm Clem Jr. L. and talking about how it can fit someone with an 85cm PBH. My PBH is 89cm/saddle height 77.5cm and the Clem was really comfortable. It's obviously designed for a taller person yet is pretty accommodating.

I was informed by a reader that was interested in this bike when it was on eBay that it wasn't listed as "NOS' and there was a previous owner. The listing did say, "Very little to no signs of use". Upon receiving the bicycle it in fact showed no wear and looked like new. Just for the record I only rode it < 40 miles. Thanks, Paul

Graham, I saw your other WTB post and thought I'd chime in. I have a similar PBH (91) and ride a 64 Clem as my daily commuter and love it. It fits great, so I think this would work for you. Hopefully it's still avail.

Justin- are you able to ride no-handed withe basket/bag/weight on the front? I know the Geo changed between 2019 and 2021, mainly reach, TT Length, and the slacker HT. I admittiley like the longer length and the look of the 69 degree HT A, vs the older 71.5. I know looks don't matter when you ride, but curious what you've noticed when riding. I plan to ride the Clem i buy 70% on road and 30% on dirt roads, with very little single track. Mostly city but with a basket- essentially the exact build you have.

Not big on the "look ma, no hands!" thing in general, but it's completely doable, if a little wobbly, with a load. Mine is a 2021 (prob obvious from the color). I ride mostly on urban streets but get it on gravel, dirt, and chunky cobbles somewhat routinely and even some single track every once in a while. It handles spectacularly on all.
