They shipped and had reassembled their bikes at the REI store prior to RAGBRAI. I think they were all or mostly all using Pinion's electronic shifting and he was hoping that things would work well since he was possibly the only mechanic rolling with the team. I think this may have been them beta testing the set up. Salmon brake pad inserts for Shimano XT Cantis

Garth <gart...@gmail.com>: Mar 08 01:29AM -0800 The Kool-Stop V-Type/V-Type 2(thicker pad) or Yokozuna Gen-X Salmon should fit those inserts as that M70/R pad was used in both canti and vee brakes from Shimano. Excess Wire: Wind It, Hide It, or Trim It?

Matthew Williams <matthewwil...@gmail.com>: Mar 07 06:39PM -0800 Hi everyone,   How have you dealt with excess headlight and taillight wire?   My excess headlight wire was hidden behind my handlebar bag, and my excess taillight wire is wound around the rack.   I want a cleaner look. I want to trim the wire so it’s just the length it should be, and attach it to the rack and bars with zip-ties.   What’s the best practice for cutting excess headlight and taillight wire? How much extra “just in case” extra length should I leave? How have other people handled excess wire? As always, your experience, advice, and wisdom are welcomed and appreciated.
