I've always loved the story from Rivendell about how exicited they are every time they open a shipping box from Nitto and see all the handlebars wrapped and ordered perfectly, so I thought I would also share ....

You snagged one - and man that's one good looking RD.   Congrats Steve.
I totally missed the release of this first batch. It's numero uno on my Christmas list. I'd ask you to post a review on its mechanical performance, but I suspect it's as close to perfect as a derailleur can possibly be.

Ooo!
I have the same deore RD on my Appaloosa that you had on your bike there. Keen to hear how this swap goes in practice.

Steve that Silver looks so much better on your Rivendell....and can I have your cat?...He/she is very handsome, too :) Great looking trio!

If, in another possible universe , I was to curate a 4th Rivendell frame, I doubt I'd go wrong with speccing all the available Silver components, knowing that RBW has thought long and hard about developing them...good looking and supremely functional...and somewhat less pricey than RH components(I am not throwing  shade on Jan Heine and I hope he meets his crowd-sourcing goals)

 What's not to like?

Ryan,  I am with you.  In fact, I have a Riv Road Standard that is a twin of this one, just in blue, on which I have 650b wheels with Silver hubs and a Rene Herse crank.  And, then, I am the proud owner of one of the Riv Mystery Bikes, and that has Silver cranks and hubs.   In good time these other two will find themselves with OM-1 derailleurs I'm sure.

(The Ritchey double crank has lasted so long on this Riv I feel I must honor its service by leaving it there until it literally falls to pieces.)

And, yes, as wise people on this list have told us, all derailleurs should be (small-s) silver, and I could not agree more ...

I really like those older Ritchey cranks...have a set on my 1997 All-Rounder and it wouldn't surprise me if they still have lots of life left in them....with Mavic 501 hubs....which were so pretty I had to have them

But, I do enjoy other people's colorful builds, especially Leah's...they're really fun.

BTW...how do you like that derailleur in action?

Well, all that I have to say about the OM-1 in action I'm sure is everything you want to hear ... It's just flawless ... Took it out for its first long ride yesterday and it felt like it has been in place forever just doing its thing ....

I honestly thought the only hurdle with it would be the amount of time it would take for my brain to start to send the correct signal to my right hand -- now being push to shift down and pull to shift up -- but even that pretty much worked from the very beginning of the ride.

Bravo Rivendell once again!
