The riv list serve is usually a place to escape bad news so sorry to post this, but if you're in the Bay Area please keep your eyes out for this 58cm Sam Hillborne.  I had forgotten my u-lock but since I was parking out of general eyesight I thought my ottolock could do the trick- apparently it can by cut by the razor in a paint scrapper tool I found nearby.  Drop bars are faded pink.  Thanks!

Brutal, I'm so sorry. I wonder if the RBW staff could help get some exposure on this?!

That sucks, sorry. Where was it stolen?

I had a Jones bike stolen once and was able to recover it. There are some success stories like that so keep your eyes open. A lot of people will tell you to check the local flea markets. I found mine on a facebook marketplace listing. Luckily the kind of bikes we ride here stick out like a sore thumb once they show up online for sale somewhere. Flea markets are harder to scour, there’s a few of them.

If you have the serial number and are able locate it through an ad, hypothetically the cops could help. In my case I scheduled to meet the ‘seller’ at a BART station and the BART police showed up to observe, but since I didn’t have the serial number they wouldn’t let me just take it, which was a miss on my part. Everyone make sure you have your bike’s serial number and register it on bikeindex.org
