Anyone getting in on the latest batch of Homers?

https://www.rivbike.com/products/homer

I fought off the urge to get one by realizing that I'm still needing to push myself to find time to ride my Roadini more, that it probably suits me better, and the main reason why I have a strong urge to get the Homer is the cosmetics of the fully lugged frame.

Scarce garage space helps dull the G.A.S. too.

I really love the butternut color! I lean toward not thinking the lugs are worth the extra money but I do miss the cream accents that the lugged models get. Classy

Also a big fan of the new colour, would love to see it in person.  Looks like nearly all sizes and (new) colours are still available - supply finally caught up with demand I guess!

Saw two people on Homer’s on my ride this morning, but I didn’t even realize there was a release today. I too love the mustard color that’s been making its rounds through the Riv lineup.

I still have my 2011, and it's in fine shape considering it was one of 19 and now one of 12. It was a standard build and all I've done is add Mafac Raid brakes I found on eBay a couple of years ago that were almost NOS. I'm curious if anyone has owned the both the old Waterford Homer's and the new LWB model?

I have been wondering all week what G.A.S. meant, and ran across it on the Path Less Pedalled Sam thread - gear acquisition syndrome. I first came across the idea in Mr Money Mustache’s blog where he calls it the Purchase Justification Machine. I have 5 Rivendells now, and I am trying to quell the urge to replace sizes on two of them - my 2015 46cm Appaloosa and 2019 45cm Clem, both 26” whees, where technically the next size up would be a better fit and would open up 27.5 mountain bike tire sizes, but I am happy with the setups I have on them now. My other three are 47cm 2020 Roadini with Noodles, 50cm Roadini with Albastache and a 2019 55cm Cheviot with Albatross bars.
I didn’t notice until recently that the 2023 45cm Clem L is now a 27.5/650b wheel size, so there’s that. On the other hand, my Appaloosa is one of 2 bikes I own that can squeeze inside my Scion xB if I don’t have the Saris trunk mount rack on the car, the other being the small Roadini, and my current Clem fits the local bus racks, which the next size up probably wouldn’t. Most of my riding is multi modal commuting so I need to keep that in mind too.

What you need is a circa 2006-8 Saluki, which was the old name for the Homer.  650 wheels, but shorter chainstays so it will fit your car (and give you some variety) and was available in the same butternut/mustard brown/yellow that the new batch of homers comes in.  Maybe by the time you find one, your desire will have cooled off.   Probably not, but always good to have a reason not to make spontaneous purchases - even ones you won't  regret.

There's a my-size Waterford built Homer frame on CL that I've been wondering about....is it very different from the newer version?

That's a pricey American-made traditional flat-toptube road bike with fairly light tubing..I suspect lighter than the MIT Homer. I never should have sold mine, go buy that one!
