As we await the RoadUno drop, I was repairing a SimpleOne build I did for my youngest son some years ago.  He rode it for a while, but then it was stolen -- it was recovered, but there was a fair amount of damage.  Anyway, he recently asked me to help him get it back on the road, at minimal cost, preferably with parts available from my shop.

Here's how it looked on the 2012 Riv Rally East, led by Bobby Birmingham:

Racks, fenders and front brakes were all damaged, bar tape got torn up, one pedal trashed -- it was a lot.  But a much SIMPLER SimpleOne emerged from the repair effort (though it's a bit funky, with a color riot on the front end and a (possibly too classy) Berthoud bag on the rear).  Anyway, here's the new version, post cheapskate repair:

The "color riot" on the front end, featuring purple anodized Paul Cantis and some crazy bar tape:

It was fun getting it back on the road!

APPROVE!  It almost always fun getting a worthwhile machine back on the road.  I hope he rides the heck out of it

Another view with the SImpleOne and QuickBeam, both resplendent in their builds, from the Cumberland, MD start of Riv Ride East (N'or Easter April 2012:
