A first time try at a filming/editing project by my partner and I. Footage is from April 2021. For the bike savvy there are a lot of non-sequiturs here.

Thanks for your time and I hope you enjoy!

That was fun to watch - thanks for taking the time to make it. Gotta love the cup & cone BB! You put grease in all kinds of places I've never thought to put grease. A little woodworking thrown in is right up my alley. The build turned out great. Would love to have seen it ride off into the sunset at the end, but maybe that's the next chapter. Keep 'em coming.

Nice! It's fun watching someone who clearly knows what they're doing build a bike. You make it look so easy! Love the blue accents with the orange frame...even down to the blue lacing on the saddle and the blue ferrules. You sure have an excellent eye for detail!

There is something calming when you watch a build video like that. Thanks for sharing.

Great vid Brendon! Can you tell me about those spacers on the Manything cage? I noticed you're wearing your Riv cap and shirt in the vid ;)

Love the video.  After your and Eric's videos, I am now convinced I need an App...

What a barrage of positivity! Thank you, everyone.
I will have to get used to building bikes with a camera in the way I guess?

Eric, good eye! I didn't realise my cap was even in the video.
The spacers are some 4-5mm axle mods that came with a random Ebay jockey wheel set. I wish I knew where to get them seperately because they turned out to be very useful. I have also used them in nitto struts to centre them.

Brendon, That was a wonderful video. I didn't think any of the footage was bad, and you should give your partner props, they did a great job editing. I did laugh at the "parts bin" comment in the video description; I wish I had a parts bin like that!
Cheers,

Thanks Jaden!
The bad footage thankfully was cut out. :)
Over 15 years of seriously wrenching on bikes, constantly changing parts and trying new things and nice stuff does tend to pile up. The Appaloosa still isn't technically the finished build I had planned as I am still waiting on the last parts to build its intended wheelset. Building bikes in the last few years has gotten harder, slower and a lot more expensive. Forces creativity though and that has been fun.

I bought a new battery for my 9 year old GoPro and tried to make a ride video. It... isn't great, but I had fun making it!

Beautiful video! Could you tell me what grips and cable housing you used?

The grips are a generic LBS brand I've had in the spare parts pile for forever and I can't remember, I'm sorry. They aren't very comfortable and I often use them to make sure I'm happy with a handlebar setup before doing anything more permanent because they are bolt ons. Which was the case here as I glued on some cork grips shortly after.

The cables are a story, actually. They are 'sport level' braided Jagwire cables. The shifter cables completely failed in under 200kms as parts of the linear cable came loose and ran through the ferrule. Concertina style. Could have been the cheap aluminium ferrules or the fact that Jagwire now makes everything in china instead of taiwan. Failed on both front and rear shifters and a third time after I initially replaced the front one when it failed the first time. The brake cables failed shortly after by bending at 90 degrees at the ferrule for some unknown reason. I haven't used Jagwire cables for 10 years and now I never will again.
So I went back to using Shimano cables with Brass ferrules and haven't had a problem since, of course.

So grips: unknown. Cables: Jagwire sport. Recommendations: don't use either!
