That orange 50 was sold yesterday and it would be great fun to know who got it and what they think of it (when they themselves have decided, anyway). Was it any of our fine List members?

I wish you thousands upon thousands of happy Platy miles…

I thought about it too long.  I am also curious if someone here managed to grab it..

Well once you announced it on the List that was bound to happen.

It was gone before I made my post. It was gone within 15 min after the email went out I think,

Lol, I thought this was the Platy thread. Yeah, the Rosco went immediately. But there’s a 50 Platy in MA!

Nice looking bike! I got see it in person at Riv and I have to say it looks right at home in the wild with all that cargo on it!

Might I ask, how much of a load are you rocking in that photo and how is the bike handling it?

Handles fine, to be honest. I'm not sure how much weight, but panniers have all my camping gear and clothes for an overnight, tools and cook set in rear bag, and the basket mostly full of food and drink and cameras. I was worried the geo wouldn't handle front weight as well and while it's not like some bikes I tour on that are more specifically designed for carrying front weight, the upright fit and swept handlebars really do make up for a lot of the downsides introduced by loading a higher trail front end like this. I will keep playing around, but I was pleased and will ride it like this again without hesitation. I bought this after touring with my 52 clem L and 45 clem H and my hope was that it was stiffer than the 52 L but had more of the long bike ride feel than the relatively short 45 H. I'm so far pretty pleased with the balance. The 52 clem L rides amazingly unloaded (better than this), but this is for sure better feeling for touring with its stouter construction.

I’m so happy to hear from you. Congrats on a wonderful new bike! I’ve been waiting and waiting to hear about the shipment of Rosco Plats and the next Platys that were slated to come this summer but there has been no word. Has anyone asked Rivendell about those shipments lately? The mixtes are just so good that I wish a Rivendell mixte for everyone. Anyway, thanks for the post and pic.

Zach, your Rosco looks great.

Also, Bike Insights is awesome! Thanks for developing such a cool resource and putting it out there.
