Hello,

Cross-posting my Atlantis I have on the Boston craigslist. Hopeful to find a good home.

Toyo Rivendell Atlantis. 56 cm. 26 in wheel size. Estimate is mid-2000’s.

I purchased this bike from the Pro’s Closet in May 2017. It came to me in mountain bike mode and I converted it to commuter mode. The intention was for this to be a Winter commuter bike but never saw service in that realm due to me shortly thereafter, sadly not having a bike commute. She instead worked as a fair weather kid trailer-hauling bike, which she did admirably. Now my kids have their own bikes. And the 56 cm center size was just a touch on the small size for me.

It’s a wonderful lugged steel bike that rides a bit more lively than one may first think. Hate to see her go, but making room for new bike projects.

The bike came with classic XTR (172.5 mm triple crank and long cage RD) drivetrain (8 speed). A mix of Shimano and Suntour cantilever brakes. The bottom bracket is a Phil Wood with no issues. Those all remain. Paint is in good condition given its age. Not surprisingly, the paint around the dropouts are particularly chipped. No dents or dings. The serial number is difficult to make out but looks like ATC40.

Lots of new additions which is what is driving the asking price. These include handbuilt (Anthony King) 26” Velocity Atlas rims with Compass Rat Trap tires. All new cabling. Shimano 8/9 speed bar end shifters. Schmidt SON front generator hub with BM IXQ front light and BM rear light. Tubus rear rack. Nitto Rivendell front rack with older Wald basket. Compass Maes parallel bars with leather Brooks tape. A well-loved Berthoud saddle included. Rivendell Sackville bag is a little beat up and the straps are missing but can be repaired. Not pictured is a matching Sackville for the basket. Brand new SKS fenders never installed before (still in package).

Pedals and bell not included.
