Big Pictures and Browser Windows

This is utterly and annoyingly off-topic, but I'm not active on other lists, so here goes. (Feel free to flame me into oblivion if you think I deserve it... you'd not be wrong to do so.)

Is there some way to have Google Groups' web viewer not show large images at full size?

It's unreasonable to expect everyone to remember to resize images before posting, but, whenever someone doesn't, it nukes the browser window. This requires side-scrolling, AKA the Root of All Evil.

Is there a solution, other than resorting to the old USENET / mailing list method of massive and embarrassing flameage of all transgressors?

Hi Shannon, 

While scrolling (downward) the 2025 photo thread, I found that right clicking the offending image and selecting "Open in new tab" works well. 

No more side scrolling,

The problem I have is when the whole thread gets scaled to the width of the offending picture, so that you have to side scroll to read text. That's what I was hoping there was a workaround for.

Still, that's a great tip... I'd forgotten (or never realized) that the browser will scale the image to fit the new tab.
