FS: Wolbis/Susie

I want to say first off that I really love this bike! I ended up picking up a Clem H to use as my commuter so that the Susie wouldn’t get as beat up. Turns out, I like the Clem almost as much in reality and a few things have happened recently so I’m listing this one.

Wolbis/Susie, I got the frame in April ‘22 size Large/56 Dark Gold 29” wheels.

Sugar Wheelworks build SimWorks Standalone (Cliffhanger) wheels with CX-Ray spokes, White Industries MI5 rear hub and Son 28 up front. These wheels have less than 50 miles on them. 

The pictures show Rene Herse Fleecer Ridge tires but I’d plan to put the Ehline 2.5” back on. They have not quite 500 miles on them. Tubeless with Orange Seal. 

Rivendell 2 piece crankset 32/22 some scratches near the spindle drive side but otherwise like new. New Race Face BB. 

Nitto S65 seatpost. 

MKS Bear Trap pedals. Scratched cages but still good shape. 

Tosco 65cm with 135mm FacePlater stem. 

Paul Components Love Lever 2.5 with Paul Motolite brakes. (Not pictured, it has been cold and I haven’t been riding this bike in the bad weather, they’re new in the box)

Jim 7 speed cassette 13-42 with Sram GX 10 speed derailleur and Silver shifter. KMC 10 speed EBike chain rated for 4500 miles. Works great with lots of low range. Manual shift up front but the 22t is really just a bail out if it gets really steep. 

I plan to keep the rear rack, Edeluxe light and saddle. I also have new grips I just haven’t put on. Small chip inside the chainstay close to the front of the tire. Asking $4000 plus shipping OBO. Thanks for looking!

I meant to put on the listing and forgot… I also have a set of Rich built cliffhanger wheels with White Industries hubs front and rear. Wheels have 4-500 miles like the frame. Very nice wheels of course but not quite as spendy as the Sugar set with some use. With those wheels maybe $3500 is a better deal for someone?

I decided not to sell the SimWorks Sugar built wheels so I thought I’d post some pictures of it right now. In the middle of cleaning the drivetrain so that’s why the cassette and chain are off. I was going to swap the brake levers for the Shimano DXR to match the brakes and lower the price. (Ran out of time so the Paul levers are still pictured)

Finally got it all back together and cleaned up. Put a new Jim 13-42 cassette on so I didn’t have to swap the other. Bike is ready to go!

Don't give up, don't get impatient or desperate,  and don't entertain low-ball offers.  This bike is almost perfect:  best size, best color, best wheels, best crankset, best cockpit.  Someone just needs to realize it.  I wish I could afford it right now  for a spare to my orange one.  Someone is going to be very happy though

Sadly, buying this beautiful bike is not currently an option for me.  But, I was wondering if anyone could offer what they think would be a max pbh for this large frame.

Hi David! My PBH is 90.5 cm and the post in the picture had a Berthoud saddle at a fuzz over 30.5” if that helps. I don’t want a longer stem than 135 so I think an XL would have fit me better. Arm length and whether you will run a swept back bar makes a big difference in fit. If I was running a more regular say 30 degree sweep bar, then the Large is probably a perfect fit with the 85mm stem. I think the XL would work with either bar with the right stem though.
