Just thought I'd let people know there is a  Waterford 650b 56cm Atlantis for sale on the 650b google groups. Seller is a good guy. I've done business with him for years. If I didn't have one it would be mine by now.

Would you know off hand the PBH range?  Thanks

The one for sale (by Ryan Nute - an absolutely 100% trustworthy person) is a 650b based much more closely on the original 56cm geometry. It's on Seattle Craigslist.

I have bought a bicycle from Ryan in the past and have only good things to say about him.

I’ll also say that the 650b Atlantis is absolutely spectacular. I’m so glad I got one in the brief window when geometry was semi-traditional, but still halfway long. I also have a 56cm toyo Atlantis (soon for sale) and I’ve had a hunq and a Sam. The newer Atlantis pulled all my favorite parts of those bikes into one thing. 2200 is a steal. I think my frame cost almost that.

Tirebiter: Drw's MIT 56 is quite a different size to the one for sale. Check the CL link for size info https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/bik/d/seattle-rivendell-atlantis-56cm-musa/7160001788.html

Ian,
I’m pretty sure it’s the same. 650b 56cm waterfords were only offered for like 6 months max. Prior To that they were 26” or 700c (For 58 and up). In those 6 ish months the frame geometry was very similar to the old version but for chainstays which were only about 15mm more than the previous version. After that they were/are made in Taiwan with much different geometry.

This was a strange time when atlanti, hunqapillars and homers briefly moved to being semi custom Waterford orders. Before MIT versions were introduced. And kind of simultaneous to the Appaloosa release.

You are definitely correct about the geo changing over, but this particular one seems to be the exception. It is tempting because Ryan's bikes fit me too and he has great taste.

From Ryan's CL ad:

"Beautiful bike but it's just not for me. It's a 56cm 650B Rivendell Atlantis made by Waterford. The geometry is closer to the older 26" Atlantis than the new MIT version with longer stays and sloping top tube. I'm 5'9" and it fits great with a 90mm stem and bars about even with the saddle (as shown about 28" from center of bb to top of saddle)."

I have a 75 PBH and the Atlantis fits great. I have one of the Waterford versions. Works well with drops in my size. I also ride a 59 Roadeo and 55 Appaloosa for comparison.

This was on the RBW site for a short time.  It has the geo info for the Waterford & Toyo built bikes.

Good find Doug. That’s the chart I was looking at when I got mine and I assume is why Ryan is saying that the geometry is closer to the old than the MIT. I think if someone has an unmodified 56cm 650b Waterford Atlantis, it’s the same as mine. They only made one iteration involving those qualifiers.

Yeah, you don't have a 75PBH.  You have more like an 85 PBH and a 75 SH.  :)

Thanks for the correction. 75 SH. Basically same size as Bill. Still debating selling mine but because I have 4 Rivs.
