Last year I had a hand surgery which kept me of the bike for a couple of months, this year a fall on my right shoulder that after 10- weeks was still problematic. Finally got a cortisone injection and I have been out 3 times since, so maybe the rest of the summer/fall will be good to me. I am still just doing short rides to make sure I do not re-injure my shoulder and hoping the injections holds up.
Then yesterday I was driving to get my oil changed at the dealer. They had a $25 off coupon so good deal. I decided to delay my departure by about 10 minutes to make sure the air in my tires was correct, then left, got on the highway and drove almost all the way to the dealer when I noticed what appeared to be a Lashing strap on the ground to the side of my car. As I was looking at it, bam, something hit my windshield and pretty much shattered it, if I had been looking straight I probably wouldn't have veered and hit another car, as it was I just drove to the dealer in disbelief, glass shards on the dash and seats and the windshield in the center pushed in a good 6 inches or more.
Turns out about 6 or more cars were disable by this, I may been the first at they all had flat tires from what the trooper told me. It may have been a tire that hit my windshields as there were black rubber type marks on the hood of the car, the bumper is dented and will need to be replaced and the dashboard may been work depending on what they find. As my insurance company said an angle may been watching over me yesterday.
