Might find some answers in that thread.
Good evening,I'm head over heels for my new Atlantis, but I do have an issue. I'll call Rivendell tomorrow if I can find time during lunch if I can't get this figured out.
So I'm getting a creak/squeak when I ride and put any pressure on the handlebars (Choco bars on a Nitto tallux). I went on my first right last evening, and I thought the sound was pebbles, debris in my fenders). I have not tried anything too crazy, but here is why I think it's in the point where the bar is clamped in the stem.
1. When I loosen the bolt that holds the handlebar in place and ride (in an empty parking lot by my house), the sound goes away.
2. When I put my hands on the handlebar next to the stem, the sound goes away.
3. When I tighten the bolt, it makes a very similar (possibly the same) creaking noise.
4. I thought it was my cork grips...I have noticed that there doesn't seem to be any adhesive towards the end of the handle bar and they do move and squeak a little when I gently twist, but it's a different squeak.
Is there anyone who's seen/heard something like this and has something to try? Is this something that will just "break-in"? All I've done to it is install it. I appreciate any thoughts or advice you have and would happily answer clarifying questions.
