Starting the search for a nice wheelset for my quickbeam. 700c, 120mm rear spacing. This is my only bike so I'd like to do it up right, maybe some Phil hubs. I'm a lightweight rider, only 130 lbs, so don't want anything too overkill on spoke count, probably 32h.

Thanks!
Sean

Hi Sean,

No leads on wheels, but I find it awesome your only bike is a QB!

I had a QB and did an "All Paul" build; hubs, skewers, crankset, seatpost, brakes. Really enjoyed the bike while I lived in Chicago. My current Clem H is set up similarly, but a different mix of parts.

And I thought this was a nice juxtaposition on a ride through Lincoln Park there.

What are you looking for hub-wise?

Single-side/Fixed?
Single-side/FW?
Dual-side/FW-FW?
Dual-side/Fixed-Fixed?
Dual-side/Fixed-FW?

Color prefs on hubs/rims/spokes?

The nicest spare set I have on hand is an all-silver Grand Cru wheelset from a few years back. Kinda buried at the moment, as in "move 8+ pair of wheels to find the Grand Crus." Happy to look if you're interested, happy to leave 'em where they lay if you're wanting something a little nicer.

Oh, and btw I'd be shipping from Jersey, in case that matters, and these days it often does.

Hi Sean,

Front wheels with 100mm spacing and a quick release are easy to find. What is harder to find is the rear wheel.

I have a fixed rear wheel, flip-flop, Nashbar hub, DT competition double butted spokes 32, laced to a Mavic MA3 rim. The sealed-bearing Nashbar hub was a bolt-on, but I shortened the axle to work with a quick release. In the photo attached here I have a 17-21 Dingle and a 23T cog on the other side that works well for me with 39-45T chainrings. This wheel probably has ~100 miles on it, as I quickly lost interested in fixed riding. Let me know if you are interested in the wheel alone, or perhaps with the cogs and Ruffy Tuffy or Rolly Poly tire.

Shipping from Grand Junction Colorado

Thanks for the replies, all, for some reason I wasn't getting notified of them. Eric, just kinda diving in, we'll see how it goes! Marty, that beam is an inspiration, mine is orange as well, thanks for sharing!
