XD2 Rings and 9 Speed

I want to use my Sugino XD2 crank with the STOCK Sugino rings with a 9 speed Shimano cassette and 9 speed KMC chain. Currently use it on a 7 speed cassette with a 8 speed KMC chain with no issues.

Does anyone have any experience, positive or negative, on using this crank with a 9 speed cassettes and chain??

The XD2 will work nicely with 9 speed your 9 speed chain and 9 speed cassette. In fact, I've had 4 different Sugino XD2 or the nearly identical X600 and they were all only used with 9 speed drive trains, all worked very nicely. I believe others will report that they even work fine with 10 speed chains.

My XD2 26/36/46 with a Deore XT RD-M591 derailleur, HG-400 9 speed 11-34 cassette and KMC 9 speed chain has worked fine on my Sam for 5 years.
I ran it for a while in 10-speed mode by changing only the cassette and thumb shifter. That worked well too.

Thanks for the positive advice. I will plan on using my existing XD2 with 9 speeds. I forgot to mention I am using a Deore RD-M591 currently with the crank and 7 speed casssette.
