I recall a newsletter from Will that broke down use of the silver 3 or silver 1 as a 1x. Anyone remember that?

Hey Franco,

I don't recall the newsletter.

However, I do run a silver 1 crank as a 1x. It works great. My bottom bracket has a 110mm spindle length and a chainline just over 50mm. I think you might achieve a better chainline using a bottom bracket with a 107mm spindle length, but you will need to expirement. You will obviously need 1x chainring bolts.
