Yep, I'm turning this one around. My 26-er Clem L turned out to meet my needs better and I have a custom on the way which will fill the AR's spot. Your turn to ride it!

52cm ST
54.5 cm TT

Very dark metallic blue, almost black.
There's an owner name on the toptube. It came to me with pieces of black electrical tape covering it, which actually blends in pretty well with the color. Not perfect, of course, but it's a vintage frame with its share of minor beausage so I quickly forgot about it. YRMV.

Selling as you see here as a frankenbuild, you should consider it a functioning bicycle ready for you to put all your cool stuff on.

ChocoMoose bars
Ritchey post

Shimano cantis, no model name, it's the ones Riv used to sell, I think they called them "Ultegra level" and put them on ARs and LongLows.

Vuelta wheels off an mtb I had, not particularly pretty but they go round in circles
8-speed era XT rear derailer
Microshift fd
9-speed SRAM 11-4O cassette. That derailer won't climb it, I probably have another cassette I can swap in. Or take it as is and put a modern derailer on it.

That shorty crank (152, I love short cranks) is coming off, I have a nice black Sugino 165 34-46 double to swap in.

Shimano bar-end on Paul Thumbie for the front. Rear is locked out, it's just a short piece of cable holding the mech in place, I only shift the front cuz it spares my bad right wrist and it works and I like it. You'll need a rear shifter.
Tektro thin-blade brake levers, Ergon grips.
Tubus stainless rack. Can't remember the model but a lister just sold it to me and it's nifty.
No saddle or pedals.

$2000 + shipping or best offer or maybe you have a Brompton to throw in the deal cuz I don't have one right now and hey who doesn't like Bromptons?

Whoa. If I didnt have a 54.5cm Atlantis...I would be ALL OVER this. But talk about overlap...basically a color change. Really cool, versatile bike and to me is epitomizes the best Rivendells made.

Dang Joe...very cool.

I hear ya, Jinxed..I wouldn't even think of moving it on if my custom wasn't going to kinda duplicate its mission. After too many years and too much space and cash given up to too many bikes, I'm pretty committed to "just enough" these days. Of course that custom may still be 6 months from popping out of the Joe Bell paint booth so I won't cry if this one hangs around a while. But it IS for sale, people! 🙋‍♂️

Btw I've decided to add a couple additions for a deal we can hash out privately. I have a new-condition Microshift Advent trigger shifter, 11-42 9-speed cassette and clutch derailer to set it up as a 2x9.

Also available is a black quill Origin8 31.8 open face stem, black Easton AX shallow drop bar with a bit of flare and black TRP levers. Stem perfect, bars and levers new in package. Heck I even have Tektro interruptors for this, but no road shifters.

Hey Joe - I sent you a P/M but it could have gotten lost in the ether ...

Two quick questions:

1. What's the widest tire that thing will run and/or what's the width on the knobbies you're showing in the pics?
2. What's the stand over height?

many thanks / jsk

Hi Jeffrey,

Standover at mid-point (TT has a slight rise back to front) is 31 inches with the knobbies on.

Tire size is 26 x 2.1..I would say there's room for maybe 2.3 up front, a little more in the rear. Add a smidge more if you're running smooth street tires.

I don't see your PM in my Inbox, I'll send one to you. Also I can be reached at:
