I searched this online and didn't get a clear answer.  My question - can you adjust the tension of a Brooks saddle via the tension pin while the saddle is on the seat post?

I've had the saddle mounted for over 6 months and wanted to keep it taught, so I was thinking of turning the pin a quarter turn, and would prefer to just leave the saddle mounted on the bike.  I would also apply some proof hide also when mounted.

@Jay

I have a Brooks B67S sprung saddle that I bought of ebay several years ago. I have always adjusted the tension bolt whilst the saddle remains on the seat post in the seattube. I do small increments of quarter turns to find the right tension comfort for my bum. When my seat bones begin to feel sore and uncomfortable, it is time to buy new padded bike shorts.

I occasionally use Obenauf's HP Leather Conditioner to help the leather retain its complexion from not drying out, especially in the warmer summer months here in the PNW where I live.
