Help me fill in the blanks. These are some of the softgoods "brands" we've seen and enjoyed over the years. Are there others? What am I missing? (I know Sackville is duplicated, but like several headbadges, there have been versions from time to time) Working on an all-in poster idea...but don't hold your breath. Thanks for your input!

Nigel Smythe & Sons was a post-Baggins, pre-Sackville line of tweed bags. They had a handlebar bag, at least one saddlebag (I think it was called the "Country Bag"), and the two sizes of rack trunk. Can't remember if there were panniers.

Thanks Jeremy - but was Nigel Smythe kind of like Carradice - a line of bags that RIvendell "endorsed" and sold rather than had made unique for Rivendell? Just trying to recall.

This may shed some light, (from the 2006 catalog) but I'm still not sure if Nigel Smyth is fictional, or FACTIONAL:

Regardless, it probably deserves a spot on the timeline. After all, I include Heron and one or two others I need to remember.

Was the Cartwright series of saddlebags (Little Joe, Adam, and Hoss…of Bonanza fame) a subset of Baggins Bags, or did they predate the Bagginses? I don’t remember there being a leather patch on them, but neither my Little Joe nor Adam are nearby for me to check.
cheers,
Andrew

There were at least three saddle bags, the Country Bag and there were also a large and a medium saddle bag.

Small rack bag and Country Bag (middle tweed pattern):

The Bonanza bags were Baggins with the BB leather patch.

I do not think there was a “poster-friendly” logo, but Rivendell used to sell the Acme wallets (made from Filson tin cloth remnants, I remember) in the early catalogs.  I still make my own wallets based on that pattern.

Baggins bags; I owned a Hoss and an Adam, respectively large (very!) and medium; I think there was a small but what was the name? I was outside the jurisdiction when the TV show aired.

Before Baggins there were very crude — relatively; still nice for the quality of materials — bags in limited sizes or perhaps only in Banana Bag size; as if made by conscientious amateur on kitchen table. Does anyone recall what they were? I owned 2.

They also had mudflaps and a front rack bag sized to fit the Nitto.
You can see them adorning my QB here -

Spent a few hours at a swap meet in Maryland today. Ended up with this original Baggins banana sack as part of a bundle with a Park headset press. Very clean condition.

All in all a much better day than the past couple years. Here's some of the other items: NOS Specialized rear hub, Park crown race slammer, NIB Mafac canti brakes,
Gravel King tires, Specialized tires, Avocet saddle, Oury grips.

Did not find a headset for the All Rounder I picked up recently, but I'm ready to install as soon as I find one.

Looks like you did pretty well today Marty. Someday I'll find a headset tool like that, I'm sure it makes the job so much easier. The Mafac cantis should look great on your all-rounder.

Marty, depending on how comprehensive you want to be... here's a Sackville label variant circa 2020 iirc. "HECHO IN CONNECTICUT"
