ISO/WTB 650b dynamo wheelset

hello all,

i’m in search of a 650b wheelset for my clem smith jr L. added bonus if you have any dynamo front wheel for sale. i’m realizing it’s a little hard to find these used for this wheel size. 

or if anyone knows a good website to build from scratch minus the riv website (which i’ll do eventually if i can’t find anything else)

In 2-3 weeks, I anticipate retiring a Polyvalent (650b) and moving up to a Riv Roaduno (700c) frame (frame is already purchased, but I'm waiting on Riv to build and ship a rear wheel). I should be able to sell the 650b front wheel (but the rear has an issue and will be junked). Front wheel was built by Anthony at Longleaf Cycles. It's a Velo-Orange 650b rim (polished, maybe model was "diagonale"?), double-butted stainless spokes, and an SP dynamo hub. It's served simply as city bike / farmers market shopper, neighborhood cruiser for maybe 8 years. Very low miles, I'm guessing 200-300. Can post pictures here this weekend. Haven't thought about price yet, but certainly a lot less than buying new from Riv/Rich or Crust. When my Roaduno wheel arrives, I'll have a wheel-sized shipping box that I can reuse for the 650b.

You could have Mack’s Bikes and Goods in Chicago build you some custom wheels up! They just did 650b 36spoke cliffhanger for me and they are great.

Mind sharing how much it ran you? I'm not too far from Mack's, I might have them build me

Just built a 36-spoke set w/double butted spokes.  Without tires:

$74.50 per rim for Dyads

$28.80 for front spokes

$38.90 for rear spokes

$251.70 for SON 28 generator hub

$88.10 for Deore LX FH-T660 rear 9-speed hub

$10.40 for Velox 16mm rim tape.

$566.90 total.  All parts new.

I laced them myself, so N/C for labor.

I couldn’t tell you because I got a custom build so it was a total price which was reasonably priced in my opinion. Best bike shop I’ve ever worked with!
