My wife made me this quilt, all by hand, with most of my bikes on it. It took her quite a long time to make this & it turned out pretty awesome. I thought I'd share with my fellow Rivendell nerds. The wheels don't look lumpy in person; I did a poor job laying it out smoothly.

That is spectacular; a labor of love! She captured great details in the bikes.

That's a good quilting project to the extent the end product is a quilt.  Those five embroidery projects that became part of a quilting project are really exceptional.  Doing all that by hand is bonkers.  The quilt part is no joke also, but the embroidery is straight varsity.

Well your wife is a treasure and a doll. Can’t believe she got her fonts, too!!! Send it to Will; she should be made famous in the newsletter for sure!

Josh, thanks for sharing your wife's handiwork and creativity. Outstanding! I would interpret the quilt as either functional or to be hung on a wall. The colorful squares line up with Rivendell's frame colors too.

Thanks again for the kind words, all.

-Rich, she wants it to be used, not kept perfect (similar to how we use our beautiful bikes) so that pic in the OP is on my bed, and I've been using it for a couple of weeks now.

I"m astonished by the creativity and talent that people have. Josh, that is so special!  Also it speaks to Grant and team's aesthetic philosophy and sensibility - I can't imagine anyone being inspired to create a handmade quilt with a Trek/Specialized/Cannondale/BMC/etc. bike images.  (But someone will surely prove me wrong!)

best, Greg

That quilt is nice!!!! kudos to your wife for making it. Really captured the essence of the bikes and Rivendell in the quilt.
