On their built by Blue Lug” Rivendell page there is a new Susie build posted. A beautiful San by One (3x1) with something (?) below the headset spacers. Anyone have an idea what this is?

I believe that's a wall-mounted thermostat control for an HVAC system

That's a thing that locks the front wheel from turning. Usually it's activated when the stand is down. It's common on mamachari bikes in Japan. It helps when loading children on the back seat.

Ah, that makes sense as the translated description mentions the bike being used to carry a child. Thanks. My inquiring mind wanted to know.

Shimano Nexave(?) locking headset collar, JDM-spec on many Tokyo mamachari. A solution to the dreaded wheel-turn-bike-go-flop problem.
