Why not a full frame pic?

This was all they sent me. Working out the last details on the headtube mounted shifters (the "Yet So Far" part).
It is a long top tube, long chain stay 650B for my 6' tall, 83 PBH body. I actually need a custom for correct fit - I am tired of long stems and setback seatposts - it is somewhere around 54 seat tube, 60+ top tube with 6 degree upsweep. The BB is filet brazed and seat lug is the Rivendell ball socket type because I am heavy - the seat stay connection is in compression instead of shear. Kind of like the Frank Jones Sr construction, but with Mystery Bike proportions and derailleurs.
.
I really love the outlined lugs.

Ah, you don't have the frame yet. This explains things!

Lovely. Please explain what looks like a shifter boss on the left side of the head tube ...?

There are shifter bosses on both sides of the headtube. It is a drop bar bike. Downtube shifters are a little to far to reach for me these days, I don't really like bar end shifters, stem shifters seem a little high and the shifter cables never look right when they are long enough to allow turning, so I had them put on the headtube. They will be close enough to reach and will have very short cables that do not turn with the handlebars.

This is an old fat man's road bike, sort of in the 60s - 70s "racing" style. No racks or fenders or kickstand or eyelets. Rene Herse center pulls. But with 48mm tires and a long wheelbase and the drop bars are mounted high. Just for riding for the fun of riding. I have handlebar bags and seat bags (in tweed) if I need to carry anything on event rides - centuries or?

It might show up as the same time as the Gus Boots Willsen. Now that's a high quality problem - which one do I work on....

That's a beautiful shade of orange.  Awsome detail on the lug paint.  You'll have to remember to look down at it only when not movinG

Very interesting; have you used dt shifters so located before? I'll be very interested in hearing how you like them once the bike is built.

I approve! The only thing it needs in addition is an AM-hub drivetrain.

Again, it looks not only beautiful but intriguing, and I'll be interested in further reports.

Patrick Moore, who even now is having an AM wheel built -- and is wondering where to put the shifter.

I almost never post here, but that is the best location for shifter bosses of all time.

Cheers

Love to see someone really pushing the limits of a custom frame design. Can’t wait to see this thing built up.

Congratulations, looks gorgeous. If I had to do it all over again I'd get a Riv custom. Look forward to updates on geometry and components.
