Re-Introduction

Hi all,

I've been on here since '09, but don't post much. Though I'm a pretty consistent lurker. I was on BOB too, but that info seems to be gone. (Did nobody save the old forum data? Is that even a thing?)

I work about a block from Golden Saddle Cyclery and love being so close to the world they've helped build in Los Angeles. A 100 years ago I worked at Wheelworks Belmont where I really lived/breathed bikes. Now I mess around in the garage and ride when I can. 

Just sold my Quickbeam frame/fork and picked up a Sam, but I'm still not decided on the direction to go with it just yet. What bigger decision is there? I'll probably throw up some parts for sale and see where that gets me. Maybe I'll sell the fixed Paul wheels and go to a 1x11...

My wife rides an '89 B-Stone MB-1 that I futz with occasionally for yucks. I'm now on the lookout for a bi-plane forked MB-1 to do a parts swap.

Nice to meet you, Dave - I've been hanging around here for years but haven't been posting much since 2019 or so. I will say I'm jealous of your LBS though - I love those guys and once managed to squeeze in a visit and ride with them (not an easy feat when you live in NYC)! Anyway, they've got great energy and give off great vibes. Nice looking Sam, btw - and you're in good hands should you need help with it 'cause the GS and Cub House crew know what's what in the world and have a healthy respect for all things Riv ...
