65cm Rivendell A. Homer Hilsen
This bike is in overall good shape and rides well. It does have some nicks, paint damage, and a few other things that could be fixed (detailed below). I’m selling due to fit & wanting a bike which can carry larger loads.
I believe this is an "old" AHH; it was made in Toyo, Japan. Unlike most 65cm Hilsen’s, this bike does not have the double top tube (I don’t know why). I am 6’ 7” and would say the bike is a little too small for me. I imagine it’d be perfect for anyone 6’ 2” + (based on riv sizing).
Specs:
- 3x9 drivetrain. Combination of 105 & Deore XT.
- Tektro R556 brakes
- Drop bars w/ Brooks leather tape
- Shimano XT Hubs. Rear hub recently had all internals replaced (free hub broke and it was cheaper to just get a new hub & move everything over). New hub body w/ all of the parts from the old hub is included.
Blemishes, etc — I have no interest in surprising anyone so I’m trying to tell you everything that’s less than perfect up front!
- The clear coat is peeling off in a few spots on the frame. Some of the decals are peeling a bit as well.
- Paint has been patched in places w/ a very close match.
- Rear rim could be more true. I can’t notice it riding or braking.
- The largest chainring is a replacement.
I’d prefer to sell without the Brooks saddle which is pictured. Pedals are included. In addition to the spare rear hub, I also will include brake pads with metal backs (where you replace only the rubber part) & more of the paint I've used for touchups.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I’m happy to take more pictures, count teeth, etc. Price is not firm. I’d greatly prefer to deal locally but I can ship if needed. I live near Truckee California, but come to the Bay Area every few months, Reno as needed, and San Luis Obispo occasionally.

(I've done my best to ensure this is inline with all requirements/recommendations, but I'll fix anything I missed ASAP). Thanks for looking!
I may have an extra 67cm Homer if you only want to improve fit.
I have a 68cm Bombadil if you want to carry heavier loads.
Contact me after someone buys this great bike from you if interested.
