A rare and terrific bike. I have 2 Quickbeams and 1 garage, so one has to go. These are made in Japan and the year that has a kickstand plate and front rack mounts – huge upgrades.
56cm Rivendell Quickbeam
Nitto technomic stem and heat-treated Nitto albatross bars, Newbaums bar tape
Sugino crankset with nice chainring guard
Velo Orange Grand Cru seatpost
Brooks B17 – well worn and so so comfortable, check out photos has a big scuff on the nose
Flip flop rear wheel, included both a freewheel and fixed gear cog, pretty silver Campagnolo front hub
MKS Gripking pedals
Tektro CR720 brakes with fresh Koolstop pads
Panaracer Pasela 700x32's
Nitto front randonneur rack
Nitto Marks Hub Area Rack - really rare
Sackville trunksack small up front
Carradice saddlebag in back
Beausage all around, but no rust or structural problems. The kickstand doesn’t sit exactly flush but functions perfectly, see pic. Recently degreased, framesaved, and all parts installed with fresh grease. I am not great with threaded headsets or cantilevers, so they may need a tweak or two. If you know cantilever magic please teach me!
These models aren’t made anymore, your chance for a made in Japan single speed Rivendell with the greatest Redwood tree headbadge in the history of all bikes. Complete bike for same price as a new frameset. Fits 700x42, put on fat knobbies and take it on your favorite gravel ride.
$1350 shipped for all of the above, or $1150 shipped for a build without racks, bag, brooks, and pedals. $50 off for pic up in East SF Bay Area (Berkeley/Hayward). Please let me know if you have any questions!
