IRD/Tange Double RollerDrive Headset, new. $90, shipped CONUS

I bought this to solve a shimmy on my Hunq. But with Riv's advice I solved it in an easier and less invasive way, and retained my original headset. (IRD sells it for $99.99 plus tax and shipping.)

Swift Catalyst Handlebar/Saddle bag, Dark Green, new, $145 shipped

Beautiful color, never mounted, includes straps and foam spacers. I purchased it for a bike I no longer have, so I don't need it. ($160 plus tax and shipping from Swift.)

Shimano XTR RD-M970 (Rapid Rise SGS) NOS, $345 shipped

The last and most refined XTR low normal mech model. Light weight, crisp shifting, an utter pleasure to ride. Recent off-list discussions convinced me that I probably have way more RR RDs than I will ever need. "Probably."

Shimano XTR SL-M970-A trigger shifters, excellent condition, $225 shipped.

These are the refined and buttressed iteration (indicated by the 970-"A") of the last XTR 9-speed shifter model. For the indexed lovers among us, it has incredibly smooth and light action. In Shimano-ese, "2-Way Release, Multi-Release, and Instant Release." Barely used, function like new. A great accompaniment to the RD-M970.

Shimano XTR RD-M951 (Rapid Rise SGS) excellent condition, $195 shipped

Lightly ridden, very low miles, with some superficial scuffs. Mechanically flawless. Distinctive 950 series anodized grey. Built like a tank, slightly heavier than the RD-M970, with awesome, confidence-inspiring shifts.

Richard, thank you. Are you asking about the number of gears or the largest tooth capacity? If it's the former, it is technically a 9-speed, but can go 7, 8, 9, and 10 speed.

If it's the latter, Shimano officially rated it at 34-tooth maximum sprocket. Shimano is notoriously conservative about these ratings, though. I know Riv makes 34-tooth-rated RDs work with 36- and 40-tooth sprockets, and even larger ones, but it depends on so many other factors and variables that I can't confidently speak to. I myself have never ventured out of the 8- and 9-speed world! So my experience is limited to that.

I’d not thought about the max. tooth part. So I thought it was 9 speed, as is my current setup. And my largest cog is 34. So yes, very temping indeed… One of those things I don’t need but am sure curious about. The XTR is a beautiful thing - they all are!
