I believe the sizing for this is similar to the Roadini so if you are a 50/51 roadini then this is for you. The swoop top tube version that will never be available outside of the few prototypes that were made. This one has a lot of nice parts. Paul mini-moto brakes with paul levers. Microshit index thumbshifter with a Shimano XT M8000 11 speed rear derailler. One of the best road cranks ever the TA Zephyr. Set up as a 1x with a 38T Woolftooth ring but it can be set up as a road double. Pacenti Brevet wheels with the Pacenti branded bitix hubs and Rene Herse Babyshoe pass tires. Nitto stem, losco 54cm handlbars, Thompson seatpost. Excludes saddle and pedals. Loads of fun but I spend my street time on my Waterford now so this sits. Its a bit dusty in the photos from sitting but it will be polished and good to go.

$2000 local pick up (central PA area) or packed and shipped at your cost.PXL_20241013_211806305.jpgPXL_20241013_211756059.jpg

This one is unique as its the only prototype with the stock headbadge. I think the other ones had Gallop tube decals but no headbadge.

Such a GREAT bike, the swoop is classy but the canti studs that allow v-brakes are the major advantage of this prototype. I have the 55cm and can’t say enough great things about it. I had flared drop bars and those were excellent with mini-v-brakes (80mm arms) but it really shines with sweptback bars and v-brakes. 50mm tires and upside down albatross bars with inner bar ends for a in the hoods position, it’s phenomenal. I commute, weekend around rides on pavement and dirt for 20-40 miles, and did a very rainy Wine country Century on it this summer. A little flexy compared to a Cheviot, but also faster and as smooth a ride. Better than a Homer for roads, as competent as a Platypus in the dirt. Mine came as a triple but it’s a better fit for a double (;6-30) and 10 speed rear (11-40t). Love this bike, anyone this fits would be crazy not to get it. Though I’ll quibble and say mine also came with a Charlie head badge which is just awesome

I apologize I don't think I knew there was another one that had the headbadge. And there was a second small batch with a shallow swoop and sidepulls. Those may have headbadges.

More info on this one. There are no real marks or dings. Very clean. It does not have a ton of miles because I do errands on my Clem more than road riding. I have had 48's on it with the mini-moto's and that fit fine but you could not go higher. Moving to regular V's or cant's would allow you to get higher than that but I am not positive what the upper limit would be.

I am open to offers but not trades. Thanks!

Hi Johnny,

Not in the market myself but folks might like to know the effective toptube measurement, straight across from seatpost to headtube, C-to-C.

Looks like that is around 570 which is a bit longer than the Roadini but that makes sense as its designed for sweptback. I can see if I can get anything more official from Rivendell too.

Also of note it has 650B wheels vs 700C for the other proto sizes. The wheel and tire info would imply that but I wanted to be clear about the info I have.

Thanks to Dan in another thread for providing the link to the full geometry chart from Rivendell. I will post it below. Riv says that despite design changes the geometry remains the same so you can look at the 49mm frame here. Mine is 50mm but based on my effective reach measurement (which I am proud to say was pretty right on) I think its essentially the same. What you get vs the new one: v brake/canti mounts which equals way more tire clearance and way more brake choices. I will include shipping for the $2000

I really apologize for having this bump up over and over. This shall be the last time I do so. I forgot that there is one more major difference with the proto version. The rear spacing is 135 vs 130 on the production version.
