Riv Protovelo 57.5cm, $1100

Hi All,

I bought this from the original owner, who bought it from Kevin at Riv in 2012.  We don't have a lot of specific info on this frame.  One Riv employee suggested it could have been geometry testing for the San Marcos with thinner tubing.  Geometry looks very close to a 57 Roadini.  The owner believed, but wasn't 100% sure, that the fork was a Roadeo fork from Toyo, based on the slender curve.  The head tube has Hilborne lugs but AHHilson on the BBshell.  Strangely, front brake is medium reach and rear is long reach. It's intended to be a go-fast bike, lighter and more nimble than other Riv's.

-TT 57.5 actual, 58-59 effective

-CS 45, WB 106

-130 rear spacing

The build:

-Compass Maes Bars 44 cm hood-hood

-Nitto technomic stem 7 cm

-Grand Comp (dia comp) non-aero levers with q/r

-front der Tiagra, rear der Claris

-Shimano 8 spd indexed bar end levers, new 8 spd IRD cassette

-VO crank 48/34 175 mm, new Shimano 110 BB

-105 hubs 36 hole on Velocity A23 rims

-FSA headset

-Berhoud Mente saddle, 180 w, 278 long.  Has some scuffs, a bit softened with mink oil but not yet broken in.

-nearly new Compass Bon Jon Pass 700x35 EL, maybe 75 miles

-seat height in pic =76 cm

I'll be keeping the pedals and Acorn saddle bag.
