Did you miss the most recent Platypus order? Feeling fomo after the beautiful run down in the last email from Will? Well here's your chance :)

As a lover of a good purple paint job I hopped on the Platypus order last year. But I've ended up shortening my commute and have found it sitting on my wall more than out on the road. Some upcoming surgery and forced time off the bike has convinced me it's time to thin out my stable, so I've decided to part with this beauty.

It's the riv stock build with a brooks C67 saddle. It has a few paint scuffs from the shipping from Taiwan, and a small ding on the top tube where it bumped into a bookcase, all cosmetic. I've ridden it a pitiful 50 miles at most, so the components are all basically new. It also has a SOMA front rack on it currently that I'm happy to include.

Preference for hand delivery in the bay area, but would consider splitting the cost of boxing and shipping it.

I've been a bit slow on selling this due to recent travel. I'm dropping the price to $2,100 and will be listing it locally on Craigslist soon.
Please reach out if you have any questions.
Thanks, Noah

Would this were next year. A purple Platypus is the next bike I'd buy, if the world would be more accommodating. But I can't do it this year. Sorry I can't take it off your hands.

Purple is far and away the best color I can imagine for a Platypus. Next year's schedule indicates the options will be silver and lime olive. (Interestingly, I'm having a hard time imagining a worse color for a Platypus than silver.) Right now I'm hoping to "get my mixte on" next year with a lime olive Platypus. If that doesn't happen but the stars align properly later, maybe purple will reappear in '26 and I'll be ready to pull the trigger then.

Good luck to you in your sale of this most desirable bike.

Yours,
Thomas Lynn Skean

Thomas,
Right size, right color doesn't come along in a lightly used offering that often. IF you could manage to buy it that would be awesome. You'd save some money by buying used and have the bicycle of your dreams. I'm hoping you can work it out somehow some way. I have a Lime Olive Clem and can't imagine a better color for that bike for me. Good luck with 2026 and beyond.

Drats!  Silver and Lime? I went to HQ this past summer, test rode a bevy of Rivs and determined 55 purple Platy for me. Will knew the recent fall batch was mermaid and mustard. After seeing the photos of the mustard I was tempted but they all sold in minutes so I thought I’d wait and order a purple one in ‘25 but apparently not. So ‘26? Maybe? Hopefully? :)

I’ve got a Riv built 60 cm  Rosco Platy in Ana Purple if you’re interested.

Hi Guy!
Thanks for thinking of me but I can’t even consider your bike given it’s size.
