My Roadini was sold and headed to Colorado then vanished, apparently. I used Bike Flights and they have opened an "investigation" to find it. I wanted to let the group know so that I can report on the service from Bike Flights. So far, I am impressed. I refunded the buyer in full in the meantime.

This happened to me when purchasing my Quickbeam. The investigation turned up the box at the nearby distro center. When it finally got delivered I noticed that the bike had been packed in an e-bike box. Makes me wonder if anything presumed e-bike has a higher chance of getting "lost"...

I imagine that e-bikes, due to their batteries and their potential for fires, must be shipped under IATA dangerous goods rules leading to all kinds of shipping delays/issues.

I imagine there may be many stories among us of shipping mishaps. I have found the Bike Flights folks quickly responsive.  The shippers themselves, however, do not always seem to take care of what is being shipped. In two cases in the past year, the box on arrival had clearly been broken open and re-taped; in one case, a box of parts was missing. Careful packing and insurance, as always.

Safe riding--and shipping--to all,

Tom
(departing Miami; whereabouts TBD)

I am well-pleased with the folks at Bike Flights thus far and I feel confident that the issue will be resolved equitably. Bike Flights while not actually the shipper is taking ownership of the missing package situation and is working to find it. It seems that a package that large with identifiable markings will be found, it is just a matter of time. If it is truly lost and not found then I purchased plenty of insurance to cover the value of the bicycle.
