Yes! Many thanks to the numerous notices I received about the posting. I have reached out to the seller and waiting to hear back. eBay is not my favorite medium for discussions but such is life. I will report back, hopefully with good news!

That looks like a quintessential Clem decked out as Grant envisioned. Even the scratches on the fenders are apropos. I doubt you'd find a complete build nicer than that specimen.

Does anyone know how much the next batch of Clem L completes will sell for? This one on eBay looks to be pushing toward $2,000 plus shipping albeit with a Brooks saddle, pedals, grips, and a rear rack included.

From a recent Riv Email Newsletter. Yeah that Ebay Clem is going to end up going for more than a new complete, but it's actually available now. Now is good!

We have complete, assembled-in-Taiwan Clems coming in late September that cost $2000, which is about $800 less than what these frames cost if we build them into completes.

Parts are the same, although this one adds fenders. Ok I'm watching the end of the auction now annnnd....$2k on the nose!

The fenders, racks and Brooks are all add ons and technically ended up being almost free.  It's not a great deal for a used bike but being almost new it wasn't too bad for today's market.  Someone got a guaranteed Clem vs trying to nab one within 5 min later this month.

Yes, that’s what I thought. Even at 2k, I think a Clem is worth it, and I hope whoever won that pretty grilver Clem feels the same. If you build it right (I’m thinking upgraded wheels, dyno and lightweight parts where you can get them) then #clemsaregems. There was a magazine issue of Calling In Sick circulating on Instagram that was devoted to the Clem, calling it a bike with a loyal following and a reputation for having “magic” (see Lovely Bicycle’s review, also). I got my 2019 model used online (seller assembled it, parked it and then had buyer’s remorse) and paid a measly $960 for it. It will never be for sale. Johnny is also right about taking chances at the pre-sale this month. Those Clems will be snapped up quickly; not a sure bet for anyone.

Congrats to the new Clem owner. I wish him or her many happy miles.

So yet again I was not up to snuff with regards to my eBay bidding. I was hesitant to go much above $2k and it turns out I lost by about $50. As luck would have it, I managed to snag a 52 frame in blue. This is definitely not my color choice but figured I may as well get one while I can. I very well may try for a Lime olive complete too. 

I do think $2050 was about max value for the grilver even with nice parts. The world has changed and will continue to blow our minds...

That is great Andrew that you snagged a Clem L frameset!! The blue is really nice I think and with the right colors on the build would be classy. To my eye, black goes well with the Rivendell blue. I can tell you from experience it costs more to build up yourself but you get the exact components you want that way.
