Time for a new FS thread?

I saw this 63 Roadeo on the Crust classifieds and thought a tall member here might be interested: https://crustbikes.com/a/shopicial/topics/179734

Good price at $1,500 for the frameset but the seller indicates it has been repainted by D&D Cycles.

Sad way to start off the year:

STOLEN: Rivendell Rambouillet - $200 (Santa Barbara)

Nice 54cm Rambouillet, nicely built.

Not mine, just saw in on CL.

The 54cm Rambouillet listed above as stolen in Santa Barbara was recovered and is now listed on paceline:

"Built this thing up as a townie / every day bike. Absolutely loved it. Took it into some gravel (and single track, even) a few times, and was surprised how well it did.
Fast forward to about 4 months ago...left it locked up outside a brewery overnight (dumb, I know) and the inevitable happened...returned the next morning and it was gone...cut through the lock.
Fast forward to yesterday - I see it listed on FB Marketplace, set up a sting operation with a police escort and got it back. Amazing!
Other than a scratch from where they cut the lock on the downtube, everything is (miraculously) in the same condition I left it.
But here's the rub - while the Rambo was gone - I built up a Surly Bridge Club real fancy to fill the same role as townie / touring bike. I'd love to keep both, but no space and looking to recoup some cost of the new build.
Would love to keep it in the forum, so reach out with offers, questions, etc..."

Haha.  $700 would be a very good deal.

I'm intrigued by. his front rack.  I have two copies of that rack and mine don't have a fender attachment point.  That spot is pretty important for a full coverage metal fender setup.  I may throw him an offer for only the racks, and see what happens.

Any guesses as to the size of this early Atlantis? My eye can't tell if it's 52 or 54cm, I'm fairly certain it's not a 50.

My guess is 51cm. It’s definitely not a 54.5cm (that’s the size I have).
I’m always suspicious of sellers who can’t bother to accurately list a frame’s size when they’re trying to sell it. I’m my mind, that’s the ONE detail you absolutely need to have. But then again, a seller who doesn’t know to include that may also be the type of seller you could get a really good deal from if they aren’t a bike person.

Mine is a 54 and I have the seat about that high, and I am a 5’7” woman with a 79pbh so my guess is it’s not a 54 if the rider is a 5’4” woman.

The 51cm Atlantis from Seattle that Matti posted is a newer style MIT Atlantis made for 650b wheels. While I still think the one in question is possibly also a 51cm, it’s a Toyo model made for 26” wheels. My frame of reference is usually the amount of headtube space between the top tube and down tube. If there’s a pump peg, that gives you an even better reference point for eyeing up the size of a frame.

Asking prices are just exercises in first-amendment rights.

>> I see very basic build [..] going for $2k or more.

Not often you don't. The ones you see on Craigs or FB ain't went yet.

Problem is, many sellers don't understand that and basically wind up driving each other's pricing higher.

Braxton Touring frameset for 26" wheels

"This is beautiful lugged steel frame handmade in Missoula Montana USA, by the artisan frame builders at BRAXTON bikes. Bottom bracket has 0540 stamped in. Probably the production number. I haven’t had the chance to research this too much.

This model features a built-in rear rack.

Sexy René Herse cranks arms and chain ring.

King headset. And Thompson Elite seat post.

Frame and fork construction is made by the award winning Reynolds 531 tubing.

The original factory paint is a deep dark blue (almost black) there is metal flake in this color so in the sunlight it’s quite stunning."

Nice Romulus in Nashville. My wife went to check it out today to see if she'd like it better than her 50cm Roadini (liked them evenly/didn't see the need to buy). It's the original owner and he was super nice. Had the og paperwork/reciepts etc. Hard to tell from the photos but it's the original Araya rims/105 hubs they came stock with.

Has anyone been able to get a response from the person selling the 58cm Hunqapillar? I’ve messaged several times but no response. As appears to be still up.

I wrote them but never heard back. Very frustrating.

John Watson's Instagram suggests that Hunq has been sold to someone in NM. I thought I recognized that. Sorry y'all.

I have not seen before the word "CLEM" on the center of a stock wheel before.

My Clem H from the first/2016 batch that came complete had wheels with CLEM hubs.

PSA Nice looking 59 Clem L near Boston, MA @ $1,500 seems almost new (no connection to the seller). I'm glad I didn't see this before buying my Rosco Baby or I would've been very tempted :)

Pasting the ad for reference:
>>I'm selling my Clem Smith Jr. It's a fantastic, smooth-riding Dutch-style upright bicycle. If you know Rivendell, you know it's well-designed, well-made, and well-sourced. I have too many bikes, and I've ridden it only a handful of times for a total of fewer than fifty miles. It deserves to be ridden and used.

Here are the specs from the website for the year (2021):
* FSA Duron Headset
* Shimano 118mm Cartridge BB
* Rivendell Silver 38/24t Crank
* Tektro 837AL V-Brakes
* Tektro RS360 Levers
* Alex DM24 Rim / Novatech Hubs
* Kenda K-1129 Kwick Journey 45mm Tires (sturdy, puncture resistant, reflective stripe)
* Shimano Altus rear and front derailer
* 11-34 cassette
* A Microshift thumbie for the FD and an Acera trigger for the rear
* Nitto Tallux Stem -110mm.
* Our world famous Tosco handlebars, 60cm
* Kalloy Seatpost

It also has a sturdy rack, MKS Gamma pedals, which are grippy and wide, and Oury matchy grips. I will also throw in a nice Kryptonite U-Lock and key.

It's a size 59, which translates into a large. I'm 6'0" and usually ride a size 56 road bike and a size 19 mountain bike, and it fits me. I think it can accommodate someone 5'8"-ish to 6'2" by adjusting the seat and the stem.
