Anyone else wanna share more colorful Rivs or other alt bikes?

Leah's upcoming Charlie build and the enthusiastic response from other group members inspired this post (that thread is just so posi I love itttt) so I thought maybe a fun thread of colorful Rivendells or other alt bikes might be welcomed ◡̈ I'd like to invite everyone here to share as well and I'd also ask to add a source for any photos posted- I think the bike owners/photographers would be appreciative 

I can start with another Platypus from Riv's blog (maybe there's something about this frame that attracts colorful-minded people!)

I cannot compete with Leah's rainbow of colors but I do have purple (Deity TMAC pedals, Paul hubs, adjusters on Paul Klamper calipers, seatpost clamp, spoke nipples, all the machine screws in the frame bosses, headset spacers, and Oury grips) on my VO Neutrino. The pearl in the paint doesn't show up in the picture. No purple tires (yet).

And I have orange. Orange rims and orange accents on frame & seatpost are original on the Trek District. I added the orange cable housing, orange sidewall tires, orange VP001 pedals. Yes, flowers are in bloom in Florida. This is my most Non-Rivendell bicycle - Aluminum frame, carbon fiber forks and belt drive. I am currently changing it back to single speed, it has a Shimano Alfine 8 speed rear hub at the moment (shifter has already been removed).

Leah and Laing, great additions!! great representation of the spectrum of modern day anodization madness, and a reminder of the now bygone naughtie-aughties fixie era. where did all the c̶o̶w̶b̶o̶y̶s̶ Velocity Deep V rims go?

here's a Miggie's HelmetKids Susie from last fall's Nutmeg Nor'easter, can't remember where I saved this pic from tbh. was it from this list? the rusty frame really lets the gold rims pop!

two Non-Riv saves from bluelug's flickr, both bikes were at the Cub House's LA Invitational bike/car show/ride last year. first is a full suspension fat chance setup with cruiser bars lol why not!!

The Velocity Deep V rims all went to Retro-gression. Retro-gression has an amazing selection of colors and patterns of NOS Velocity Deep V rims. I want a set of the googly eye pattern versions in the worst way, but I have resisted so far.

Okay -- after going gaga last evening upon first seeing Brent's post of the HelmetKids Susie  - this morning in the clear light of the day, let me add my recognition that the bike is in some ways anathema to the sense of style and elegance that I view as a core element of RBW's ethos.  

However, to my eye, seeing the bike stripped of its paint - 'stark naked' if you will - reveals the underlying elegance of its design. I'm not often taken by that unpainted steam-punk look, but somehow this bike does it for me. 

As the expression goes - I like it and I cannot lie.

Kai 'n Steve, you both shared seeing a "bad ass" quality to the Susie. I admit I was more into the flashy gold rims! it's fun how different aspects of the same bike can be appreciated

Here was my most coloful build. I got a custom Marino "winter bike" (fixed gear 650c) complete with custom krubby winter pink and teal camo mits with leather fringe. (I think they're on cut down steel albatross bars)

Unfortunately two winters of riding in -40* ice with mystery anti ice sludge ate nearly every component and wheels off this bike and peeled the powder coat off. I sold it cheap to a friend who gave it proper TLC and a rebuild.

Bill, I've witnessed your skill of finding precision show up in many ways on these boards but please give yourself some credit - a full custom riv in bubblegum pink with matching fenders is a few carefully calibrated degrees more towards Colorful™ than the conventional rivendell palette. perhaps therein lies a challenge for a future build??
