Hello,

My 58cm Atlantis was stolen from my front porch yesterday afternoon, near UC Berkeley.

I can't find a picture of the current build, however:
It is notable for the Nitto Bullmoose Bars and silver Pletscher rear rack. At the time of theft it also had fenders, a mini front rack + basket, sackville panniers, and lights.
It is a standard, green 58cm Toyo Atlantis from around 2005..

If you have any leads please let me know.

Best, .
Dave

Oh, Dave! I'm so sorry, man.

I hope you get it back. All here feel your pain I'm sure.

Speechless...that just sucks.

I’m sorry, Dave.

I live in Berkeley, and I see a lot of stolen bikes in my neighborhood so I’ll definitely keep an eye open for your bike.

Please send me your phone number, the BPD report number, the serial number, and what you want me to do if I spot your bike. Please also register your bike with bikeindex.org and project529.com/.

Bike Index and Project 529 are free, searchable databases for checking the serial numbers of bikes for sale.

As someone who has been very casually looking for a 58, can you provide any information that would help identify your frame, in case it gets parted out or rebuilt?  Do you have any photos of scratches, scuffs, etc that can help us spot it.

A long-running fear of mine when buying used bikes is that they could have been stolen at some point.

Ugh, I thought I mentioned it, but maybe edited it out.  I am very sorry for the loss.  Short of my dogs, I don't know what else might hurt more to be stolen than my bike.

Dave, I am so sorry your bike was stolen and I hope you can get it back - safely

I suspect you have a lot of history with it and that is irreplaceable of course. But do you have house insurance to cover some of the financial loss, so you can possibly replace it if it doesn't turn up?
