Summer off-road riding

I've been favoring my Roadini since it arrived last October and realized that I needed to repurpose my former commuter Cheviot. The Roadini is sporty, sprightly, and makes me feel cool on my commute so I decided to try the Cheviot off-road for the summer. I lost the fenders and traded the Chev's Compass Loup Loups (38mm) for some Ultradynamico 48s (Rosé up front and Cava in the back). I've never been trail riding around the Boston-area and wouldn't have sought it out before feeling these tires float over rocks, roots, and more. Today is the first day of summer vacation for my seven year old and the inaugural ride with the Chev's new shoes...we even ran into other sheep in the field. Spectacular morning on bikes, I felt seven again myself :)

Danielle, 

I can’t think of a better complement for a bike ride than “I felt seven again”.  Your reconfiguration makes me want to reconsider my devotion to N = 1 bike. And matching orange bikes with your boy is quite special.

That's amazing Danielle, looks beautiful! Where is it?

I'm hoping to go on the Swift Campout next weekend. It's organized by Cambridge Bicycles - if you don't know them, they are a great group of people and true bike enthusiasts that embrace the Just Ride mentality.

Couldn’t agree more, Dustin! Riding for me is about recapturing that first taste of speed and freedom I felt when I got on my first bike. It is the greatest feeling to find that again :)

Hey Max,

It’s super close, right next door in Belmont. Rock Meadow - it is really beautiful. I walk my dogs here everyday and see deer, coyotes, and usually a bike or two.

Cambridge Bicycle is my home shop! They have the best vibe around and have always been incredibly helpful. I hadn’t seen they are organizing a camp out and would have loved to join! Unfortunately I’ll be camping at Acadia next week. Do you ever do any of their Sunday rides? I’ve been meaning to get to one and would love to hear what you think if you’ve done one.

That's great! Yes, I've done a few of their Sunday rides and it's always a great group, super chill and really fun - highly recommend them!
