I made a box that holds the spare vertically next to the left wing. It is slightly wider than the wheel/tire and is bolted to the floor. The wheel is rolled back into the box and retained with a bungee cord. This uses the least space and allows access when needed.

A pic for the group would be nice.

I know its not the same thing as an aluminum trailer but my first ever glider came with a wooden trailer (VERY nicely built and easy rigging - which I can't claim credit for) but didn't have a spare tire.

So I repurposed an open trailer spare tire mount and attached it to the side of my trailer on the outside.  Added doublers both inside and out.  Worked great. And I never had to use the spare!  ;-)

See the pictures attached.

One REALLY nice thing about that arrangement is that it is so easy to check the pressure in the spare tire.
The factory Cobra mount is nice because it is inside and out of the elements, but it is a real PITA to check the tire pressure, especially if the plane is in the trailer.

Depends on which Cobra mount. Rather old is inside front on floor, later is on top of nose capture pedestal, big trailers can be inside against outer wall, option is underneath.
Most can be easier if you mount such that you have access to the stem.
Underneath can be easier with a hose extension attached, otherwise they're a PITA.

Mine is bolted flat to the floor, forward of the fuselage, between the wings. Not the easiest to get to through the small front opening. The dollies for the wings catch on it.
I keep mine trailer spare in the bed of my truck during the soaring season, under cover.
