Hi,

I just noticed that my sailplane is not registered on the OGN database under my account.  I can login and see other sailplanes that I have registered for my soaring club but not my aircraft.  I tried to send a  help request to con...@glidernet.org, but it bounced.  I also tried sup...@glidernet.org, and in...@glidernet.org - no luck.  Does anyone have a suggestion for the correct contact?

Hi Roger,

I tried to register at ddb.glidernet.org, but the site states that the glider is already registered.  I don't know how that could be, since I own the glider with one other co-owner - who I'm certain hasn't registered it.  But I can't seem to get through to anyone to get the issue resovled.

I had this problem with the exact same error. The previous owner had loaned it to another pilot who had registered the flarm ID under his own CN for a contest. I contacted that pilot and he released it and it let me register after that. You’ve got to find out who has it registered now. Good luck!

The OGN "staff" (a few volunteers) could not handle these issues before.   The OGN DDB now (finally!) has a system where, after a year of no action on the part of the registrant, the registration becomes unlocked, and somebody else can take ownership of it.

Meanwhile, when you say that "the glider is already registered", what exactly does that mean?  If the ICAO ID is registered to the same glider (as it must be), then that info (make and model, N-number) will show up on OGN viewers and will correspond to the correct glider, so not a big problem?  Your name is not included in the database.  The contest ID is, so if the registered one differs from your chosen one, that may be a problem until the year runs out.

A few years ago I was contacted by Sebastien Chaumontet, in my understanding one of the key guys in Europe running the OGN system, with this request:

He was right, as one of the gliders in our club which I kept registered on my account had been sold and I wasn't aware of it.

So I would definitely try to contact him at the above email address.

Hi,

I am the owner of the sailplane.  There are no previous owners that registered it.  Below is the note I'm trying to send to someone at the OGN that can help me get the sailplane registered to my OGN account.

I don’t know if you can help me, but I need some help with the OGN registration of my sailplane. 

The OGN website says that the contact email is: con...@glidernet.org, but I get an error message when I try to send an email to that address.

I’m trying to add my sailplane to the OGC database.  The website says it’s already registered, but it doesn’t appear under My Devices.  I am the owner of the sailplane.  It is a DG-1000S with ID: N429FH and Mode S ID: A51D93. 

I thought I had registered it on the OGC site previously, but I’m using my login as my password – so the “reset my password” button wouldn’t help.  I know the password associated with my email address.

How can I get my sailplane attached to my account?

Can you look in the database to see who my sailplane is registered under.

This sailplane has been owned by just a few of us for 20+ years.  One of the previous owners stopped flying before the OGC was created.  The other is Dick Andrews.  He’s still a part owner of the sailplane, but I don’t think he knows what the OGN is.  The only former partner is Dan Zimmerman, but I don’t think he would have registered the glider on the OGC.  He’s no longer a partner in the sailplane. 

I hope you can help, or direct me to someone who can help.

Hi,

I'm very happy to report the Angel Casado was able to delete the incorrect entry in the OGN database.  I was then able to enter the information for my sailplane into the database.  Below are a few links I found helpful during this effort.

I had that same problem years ago and finally just gave up. 
Maybe I'll try again to sort it out.
