Hello all, I'm looking for my first glider and some of the ones that might work are out of annual. How do I find A&P's/IA's that are local to where the glider is located to get it inspected before purchase? I've googled, tried the FAA/SSA websites, I can't find a central database easily searched by just location.

Help!  Thanks! Kirk.

If you post here where it is located, Im sure you will get plenty of referrals.

I’m putting my 1977 102 Astir CS 77 up for sale soon.  I plan to get the annual done this month.
N677CS. It’s the CS model with the longer, more pointy nose.  I’ve enjoyed it a lot but want to focus on flying my newer glider this year.

Hi Kirk,

I second what Cliff said.
Another thing that you can do is to contact the closest club or glider port to where the glider is located and they can point you to the people they use on a regular basis. I've gained a fair amount of business by owners doing that.
FYI - If you're looking at one in Florida, I'm located just outside Orlando and work primarily at Seminole-Lake Glider Port.

Thanks for the advice, I was just hoping there was a place I could just look up mechanics in an area. I don't have one particular glider yet that I am quite ready to make an offer on but when I do I'll check here if google doesn't help me find someone to give it a pre-purchase inspection and get the annual current if necessary.

Kirk.
