Hi,

Yesterday I just integrated my Raspberryshake into my Seiscomp3, thanks to the instrument response xml file I downloaded from StationView page.

Last night, Seiscomp3 recorded a M5.9 earthquake south of Lake Tanganyka, at Dem. Rep. of Congo / Zambia border region.

1. Seiscomp3 detected a P-wave on my Rpi and used it to compute the earthquake location, along with my tens of other seismic stations available in my Seiscomp3 implementation.

2. Moreover, even with a low signal/noise ratio, Seiscomp3 managed to measure an amplitude of 202 nm on my Rpi which corresponds to a magnitude of 6.03 at this distance ! Very consistent with the magnitudes provided by the other stations that run professional seismometers !

This looks very promising and I look forward to recording other earthquakes.

Hi Gilles,

This is great!  Integrating Shake into Seiscomp3 the most advanced and modern observatory seismological software.  While Shake was designed for local and regional seismology I see lots of teleseismicity being squeezed out of it.  Great!

This was part of the original design parameters, that this needed to be possible.  It is worth noting that Seiscomp3 is available for non-commercial.  The learning curve is a bit steep but certainly open to the Shake community.

Great job Gilles!

Angel

Hi Gilles,
Can you give a short info on the steps you did to add it to seiscomp3?
I am having some issues importing the xml file. I have tried sc3,arclink, and staxml.
The xml file was retrieved from the http://raspberryshake.net/stationview/

Thanks
Marck

Hi Marc,

Depending on your version of Seiscomp, you might need to modify a bit the xml file before importing it. In my case, I had to change the version of the seiscomp schema from 0.8 to 0.7.
There are 2 occurrences in the xml file, close to the beginning. See below:
Change
into

Then try to import again in format "sc3". If it doesn't work, try with version 0.6

I hope this helps.

Cheers,
Gilles

Hi all Seiscomp users.
I have tried to add my raspberryshake to seiscomp3 (version jakarta 2015).

Steps taken whereedit the xml file avble on eqview (change 0.8 to 0.7) and imported the sc3xml file in the inventory, afterwards I did a test sync and afterwards a sync itself. (all went fine)

After this I went back to the ssconfig, bindings menu.

1. created a new global profile for the SH profile of the raspberryshake instrument.
2. Created a network (AM) and station (R8473) binding.
3. added to the station profile, arclink, global, scautopic, seedlink, slarchive
4. cntrl S and afterwards update configuration
5. exited ssconfig
6. seiscomp update -config seedlink
7. seiscomp stop ->seiscomp start
8. started modules needed.

Problem is I dont see the network name, station name and of course no  data stream in scrttv.
I do see the station and datastream in scmv

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks
Marck

Hi Marc,

perhaps you have configured scrttv for other stations, could you please check your scrttv configuration at scconfig and make sure that the stream box allow the AM network to be seen.

If the problem still, please check some errores at the scrttv log file and also send us the scrttv.cfg which must be located at seiscomp3/etc.

Best.

Ok thanks guys.
The problem was in the codes allowed by scrtty. Thanks for the tips.

1.
In scconfig, click"Bindings" tab, right-click on the xml fils you just imported and click "show content".
Expend everything, you should see your station.
If you can't expand/collapse, it means the import went wrong.

2.
Try "slinktool -Q localhost".
Do you see your Rpi in the list ?
