I am trying to install opspy on a mac or raspberry.. and failed so far.

the mac has its own python install and I dont like to mess with it.

on the rpi i get all kinds of errors rights  missing libs ...) .. has anyone installed opspy on a raspberry-pi and could you share the script.
I tried to follow several different scripts, but no success.

thanks

Karl

ps redid my underground shake. now it does not "see" the sprinklers running  anymore. added:
more gravel, moved away from water pipes, and added gravel below the concrete pale on the sides so that water can dissipate left and right of the (watertight) box - I tested water tightness in the swimming pool. it is water tight including cable outlet.

Hi Karl,

I think you would have no trouble installing obspy on a pi with Raspbian or debian.  We have lightened the OS on Shake so updates are faster.  Notably it does not have X11.

Hi Karl

Assuming that you're using Raspbian ...

On raspberry-pi you should try adding the obspy repository at your sources.list

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

add:

deb http://deb.obspy.org CODENAME main

where CODENAME means your raspbian release (wheezy or jessie)

Now you can try to install obspy

sudo apt update && sudo apt install python-obspy python3-obspy

Now wait obspy is huge..

On OS X use brew

thanks for the pointers.. but still struggling, I guess I need to start from a fresh ssd,

getting:

raise VersionConflict(dist, req)

pkg_resources.VersionConflict: (six 1.8.0 (/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/six-1.8.0-py2.7.egg), Requirement.parse('six>=1.10'))

and the mac-pro has a long history (8 years)..

but thanks for the pointers and I guess its just doing things step by step..
