Dear All,

IAPG has tied up with SP Jain to provide opportunity to young leaders in patient led organisations for developing management and advocacy skills. Please see the link attached http://www.spjimr.org/content/ngo-excellence-programme. The program was started initially for cancer groups, extended to blood disorders and this year we have managed to include Rare Diseases.

The program is free of cost and only one nomination from an organisation will be accepted. (we have limited seats and enrollment will be on first come basis subject to clearing enrollment criteria)

The terms are as follows

  1. graduate - any discipline
  2. Patient or caregiver
  3. preferably a member of an organisation- we will request organisations to nominate and recommend the candidates to ensure we have a good selection.
  4. IAPG member (no fees required, only consent to be listed as an collaborating organisation)
  5. Commitment from the member to work for his/her parent organisation for at least one year.
  6. consent to speak at public forums if required and represent his/her community
  7. willing to be quoted/printed in relevant articles with consent
  8. willing to travel to seminars/conferences and meetings to speak on behalf of his/her community
  9. Promote the concept of patient centered healthcare and patient rights.
I will be forwarding a google form for nomination in a couple of days. Meanwhile, I encourage organisations to have their internal discussions for selection as the course will commence in May 2018. The brochure for the course will be shared shortly.

Neither the course, nor IAPG will disclose or share any details of the nominee on any platform.

regards
IAPG

Dear Ratnaji/IAPG
Thank you for this invitation. It is indeed a very welcome opportunity for this kind of collaboration between a Management institute and patient organizations.

As you know Sjogren's India is a Patient Support Group working for providing education and informal counselling support to patients with Rheumatic diseases especially Sjogren's syndrome.

I would like to nominate our Mumbai based member Mrs. Vandana Chugh for this programme. She has been involved in supporting patients in Mumbai and has represented SI at events organized by Mission Arthritis India.

Do let me know if you can consider her nomination under the free category and advise us how to proceed further.

Looking forward to your response.

Sincere regards,

Kirtida Oza

Hi,

Is this a paid program or a free of cost?   Also let me know whether the classes would be on holidays or working days as I have been working in Education Sector also.

this is a free program. Most classes are weekend (three contact classes of three days each), however full schedule is not decided yet. The first class is 25-27 in Mumbai. Please nominate by evening if interested
