Irwin Hoffman

Dear Friends,

Sadly, I learned yesterday that Irwin Hoffman died on April 5th at the age of 83.  Irwin was a long-time member who presented to the group on at least three occasions, including his early work on what would become his book, Ritual and Spontaneity.  On a second occasion, we had a lively panel discussion organized around his paper, Doublethinking our Way to 'Scientific' Legitimacy: The Desiccation of Human Experience.

Although he had not attended the group in person for several years, he remained in touch, always interested in the agenda for the meetings, and was deeply touched when the group made him an honorary member.

Take care and I hope to see all of you in June.
