Rockers, is there documentation some where explaining how to flash the
nightly Rabian builds? I see there are a several images and files in
the nightly directories.

My rock2 has made it through customs and will be delivered on Tuesday,
trying to get all my ducks in a row to start working with it.

Thanks

- JT

You only need to flash the all-in-one image compressed with .xz. The
instructions can be found here:

Tom, can the nightly images be flashed from the windows tool? I was
able to flash the standard Rabian image from the main download page
dated July 20th but the nightly images fail at 96%. Screenshot
attached.

I'm unclear how to upgrade via linux because when I reboot into loader
mode (sudo reboot loader) it reboots to the USB OTG port and serial
port goes dead.

#Boot ver: 2015-07-20#2.19
empty serial no.
reboot to rockusb.

also, the Linux tool from:
http://dl.radxa.com/rock/tools/linux/Linux_Upgrade_Tool_v1.21.zip

is an i386 ELF binary and does not execute on ARM Rabian

Yes, the linux tool can not run on ARM. It's property tool and we
can't build it for ARM.

You need to run upgrade_tool in your desktop PC, and connect the OTG
to your desktop PC. When the board is loader mode, it can only
communication with desktop PC via the flashing tools. Serial is not
working in loader mode or rockusb mode.

Thanks, I finally was able to use the Linux tool to flash the most
recent nightly successfully.

I do have a couple more questions.

I notice the NAND is showing total size of 29.1GB but the Linux
partition is only 24.3G in size. If I try to resize the partition as
discussed on the wiki, resize2fs reports it's already at the maximum
size of 25G, Is there another way to regain the extra space?

Also, what size is the power connector? Looks like 2.1mm center
positive? Is this right? I need to get at least one extra cable but
would like to secure it locally.

Lastly, I've been compiling a lot of code today for many hours.
Should I look at adding a small heatsink to the CPU at some point?

Thanks again Tom. I am really liking this board. It's been a lot of
fun so far.

It's not NAND. It's EMMC. About the size, it's confirmed as a bug.

rootfs starts from 0x00994000, you can check by cat /proc/cmdline

we just fixed it.
https://github.com/radxa/rock-bsp/commit/610ee51a83ebb05bebca3c2b48f28722f221d204

If you don't want to lose data for current system, you can add a new
partition between 0x26000 and 0x00994000 to use this around 5GB space.

The specification of the DC jack is here:

Thanks for the heads up about the fix for rootfs

Is the nightly builds mirror down again? There is only one directory
in rock2_square (10/23) and it's empty.

Thanks again Tom!

Awesome stuff Tom. I just flashed the 10/24 nightly and now have
~30GB on rootfs. Everything is running really well here, time to
stick with this image for awhile.
